History

In 1987 the company was founded under the name “Άλφαχρωμ”(alphachrom) by Dimitrios Varsamis, operating in the field of paint production. Based in Larissa, initially, it occupied a space of 85 sq.m. and produced construction paints (plastic, acrylic, watercolors) for the paint shops in Thessaly. As the business successfully progressed, in 1992 it relocated to a 280 sq.m. space at the 5th km of the Larissa – Tyrnavos road.
In 1994 the collaboration with the company “GREROM” from Poiesti, Romania began, and for four years (until 1998), 95% of the production was exported.
In 1998, the company moved to its own facilities of 1,300 sq.m. in the Industrial Area of Larissa. Simultaneously, by investing in modern equipment, it improved the quality of its products and expanded its production (1999) to industrial paints for metal constructions, anticipating increased demand due to Olympic projects. In the following period, it collaborated with major names in the domestic construction sector, solidifying its position in industrial paint production.
Continuing dynamically and meeting market demands, in 2005, it started producing epoxy paints applied to industrial floors and special coatings for metal and in 2008 it introduced passive fire protection paints for steel buildings, importing products from Firetherm in the UK (Firesteel 47-4 water-based and Firesteel Classic 120 solvent-based) and from Audax in Germany (Renitherm PMA 600 & Renitherm PMA 1200).
In 2010 the company replaced its entire mechanical equipment with new, modern machines. Simultaneously, by investing in continuous evolution, qualitative improvement of its products, and the development of innovative solutions, it established its well-equipped “Quality Control & Product Development Laboratory.”
In 2015 the company modernized its profile with a new brand name, “alphacolors” and consistently continued its developmental path in the field of paint production, offering high-quality products and responding to the continuous demands of the market.
